Zana Spahiu, the woman of the man Kurti wanted the minister, at the head of RTK like public television “in the hands of” of the prime minister's favourite candidate?

With 9 votes for and none against it, Zana Spahiu has been elected General Director of Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK), securing a three-year term at the head of the public broadcaster.
Its appointment comes amid allegations filed in the media days ago that members of the RTK Board were instructed by the Kurti Government to support exactly Spahiun, which added doubts that she was the executive's favourite candidate.
Zana Spahiu is the wife of actor Fatmir Spahiu Bufi, who was nominated by Prime Minister Albin Kurti for Culture and Tourism Minister in October 2025. However, he never took office, as because of the blockade in the Parliament, the government failed to resolve.
Fatmir Spahiu himself had publicly confirmed that he had accepted Kurt's offer to be minister, thanking the prime minister for his confidence, but stressing that the appointment failed because the government was not voted.
The return of Zana Spahiu to the helm of RTK has also reversed debates over her reports with power. She had resigned in July 2024, following the RTK transmission scandal of a Bosnian portal article"Slobodna Bosna", where he claimed the Kosovo media Periscopi and Nacionale “are financed” from Serbia.
Despite controversy associated with her name, Spahiu received unanimous backing from the Board RTK, returning to the top of public television.
