Energy prices may increase, the Chamber of Commerce requires extenuating measures

The Energy Regulatory Office (ZRRE) is considering the demands of energy operators for the increase in electricity prices for 2026. COSTT, KEDS and KESCO have applied for 18% growth, demanding that allowed revenues total around 863m euros, compared to about 730m euros [...]
Regarding this expensive opportunity, Chamber of Commerce Director Antifeit Ahmeti has called for institutions to take measures to ease the burden on citizens and businesses.
It has proposed lifting the 10% VAT on essential products, as well as removing the fixed tax on electricity bills.
“to remove T A 10% in essential products, a tax on the electricity bill would probably balance that expensive current. We pay taxes only because it's an hour of electricity set”, Ahmeti has declared, for RTV21, broadcast Periscope.
According to him, increased energy prices and energy market liberalisation are among the main factors that have contributed to the rise of inflation in the country, which, according to the latest data, has reached 5.8 percent. /Periscope/
