AUV warns penalties for illegal sale and slaughter of animals

The Food and Veterinary Agency, Kosovo Police and the Directorate of Inspectorate of the Pristina municipality have held today a joint meeting regarding the enterprise of co-ordinated actions against the sale and illegal slaughter of animals and birds, praising that the event poses serious risks to public health.

According to the announcement, institutions have agreed to intensify co-operation and implement immediate, co-ordinated and tolerant measures to any individual or business exercising illegal activities in this area.

Also, public appeal has been made to all individuals and economic subjects concerned with the illegal sale and slaughter of animals and birds to immediately disrupt these activities.

Any violations will be handled in accordance with the legislation in force, and strict legal measures will be taken against violators. We also invite citizens to cooperate and report every suspected case of this illegal activity”, the announcement says./Periscopi/
