The KLA War Veterans' Organisation (OVL-UÇK) has announced that over 19 thousand people have signed it so far, February 26th, the National Petition launched by war associations.
On published notice, O The VL-KLA has indicated that the petition is addressed to Kosovo's Specialised Chambers in The Hague, in the final phase of the trial process against former Kosovo Liberation Army leaders: Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi.

Through this petition, signatories demand that the Specialised Chambers' decision be based exclusively on evidence and facts administered during the trial, stressing the need for impartiality and avoidance of any political influence.
Also, the petition requires full respect for the basic rights of the accused, dignified and human treatment, rigorous assessment of the evidence according to international standards, as well as the exception of evidence provided by Serbian authorities. Among the requirements is the review of the application of command responsibility concept in the context of the war in Kosovo.
Associations removed from the war describe the expected decision as historic, with legal and political influence, stressing that it will also have an impact on the perception of justice and trust in international institutions.
