COMM STT confirms that even today there will be electricity reductions

Kosovo System, Transition, Energy Market Operator - COMM STT has said insufficient KESCO nominations are endangering the stability of the system, saying they are facing tremendous difficulties in balancing the system in real time.

“COMM STT is facing tremendous difficulties in balancing the system in real time, as a result of major deviations between nominal energy and real demand. Today, on 20,01.2025, K ESCO has nominated around 26.17% less energy than real demand, bringing the CoO Control Zone STT in no average balance of about 211 Over hours, these imbalances exceed 260 hours in several hours. This situation is unacceptable and undermines the stability of the electromagnetic system. COSTS calls for nominations to accurately reflect real demand and correct immediately to avoid deviations and to preserve the safety of the system. In this situation, COSTT has been forced since 10:00 to request a load restriction application, as the last measure for ensuring secure operation, to improve the situation”, COST wrote.
