How does your morning schedule affect your long - term health?

According to the study, the time when breakfast is consumed is of great importance and affects health and life expectancy, says the famous cook's website, Martha Stewart.
The study, published in the Medicine Communications, has analyzed the connection between meal hours and health among the elderly.
Researchers have followed over 20 years, 2,945 people aged 42 to 94 in Britain, also analyzing blood samples.
They noted that as the years passed, the elderly began to eat later breakfast and supper while narrowing the general time of the day.
Late Breakfast and Health Risks
The study showed that eating breakfast later was regularly linked to physical and mental problems, such as depression, fatigue, and oral health problems. It was also noted that late meal times are difficult to prepare meals, less sleep, and, most often, higher risk of mortality during the study period.
Even after researchers took into account the factors of age, they found that the late morning “coe was linked to higher risk of numerous diseases and mortality”.
“The study offers missing information on how food times change in later life and how this change affects health and life expectancy. We found that late meal times, especially late mornings, are related to health challenges and increased mortality in the elderly”, said Hasan Dasti, scientist and biologist at the Massachusetts Hospital.
Why Does Food Time Matter?
Traditionally, food research has focused on what we eat. But this study highlights the importance of science studying mealtimes as a potential factor in preventing health problems.
“Our study suggests that changes at the time when older ones eat, especially breakfast, can serve as a simple indication of their general health situation”, Dasti explained.
He added that encouraging older ones to have stable mealtimes can become part of broader strategies to promote healthy aging and longer life.
