Weight - loss drugs can reduce the risk of breast cancer to 30 percent

Weight loss drugs can help not only to treat obesity but also to reduce the risk of developing and advancing certain types of cancer, suggests new studies presented at the world's oncology conference organised by the American Clinical Oncology Association (ASCO) in Chicago, The Guardian reported.
Three separate studies show that drugs known as GLP-1 can play an important role in preventing and treating cancer.
One study found that women using these drugs were 30 percent less likely to develop breast cancer, the most common form of cancer in women worldwide.
A second study has shown that increased weight loss drugs in standard breast cancer treatment were linked to 30 percent reduced risk of death from the disease.
A third study, meanwhile, has found that breast cancer patients, lungs, colon, or liver using GLP-1 had 38 to 50 percent less likely to spread into the fourth stage.
