Democratic Party of Kosovo deputy (PDK) Vlora Citaku has said they have met with former Kosovo Parliament Speaker Glauk Konjufca and have asked Kosovo Assembly to establish a mechanism for Special Court surveillance that is judging former Kosovo Liberation Army leaders (UÇK)
Citaku has indicated that they have not found support from Vetevendosje either for a result in the Assembly or for the creation of any mechanism for monitoring the Special Court, since Kosovo's Assembly is founder.
“We have requested the party's chairman, Memli Krasniqi, Enver Hoxhaj, Abelard Tahiri as chief of the Parliamentary Group, and I have personally requested several times that the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo create a mechanism. We went and met not once, several times with former Parliament Speaker Glauk Konjufca and presented this request. Even our evil teams had drafted a result draft that had to be passed to the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo”.
We have found no support on the part of the Vetevendosje Movement. We never said that publicly until now. Because we didn't want the prosecution at The Hague to feel and to dream so openly that abandoned by institutions are the leaders of the liberation war. We've been trying to spare our leaders from a hit like this”, Citaku said.
Citaku has said that there have been many meetings on this issue, clarifying that there were also pledges and promises that were not realized.
And they can ask Mr. Conjufca has had pledges and promises, but never has this minimum requirement been implemented”.
Citaku has also indicated that they have submitted requests to former Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu for increased funds to protect former KLA leaders, but that funds have been reduced.
If we've submitted requests several times even to Mrs. Haxhiu for increased funds in support of the leadership protection. KLA in The Hague. Let's say there was no reflection in this direction but the funds have been reduced”, Citaku said.
The PDK deputy chairman has said that Thaci, Veselin, Krasniqi and Selimi could be fought politically in Kosovo, but are not in The Hague as a politician either as prime ministers or as deputy.
There at The Hague are as soldiers of our liberation war, and this mental inability to make this distinction and to realize that Thaci government 1 or Thaci 2 is not protected in The Hague, but the KLA's fight for me is not incomprehensible. To the extent that you are able to sacrifice history and the future. A harmful verdict in The Hague has major implications for the future of our Republic”, Citaku has said.
Some psychiatrist or psycho-analyst can understand why Vetevendosje hates former KLA soldiers so much.
I'm saying again I can see that there's politically no patience, because Thaci represents everything Abin Kurt can never be. Because Thaci and his name link the most defining moments of Kosovo's new history. Kosovo's freedom is inevitably linked to its name, as the leader of the Kosovo delegation in Rambouille, the agreement that brought us NATO's intervention and freedom in 99th”.
According to PDK deputy chairman, with Hashim Thaci and his imminent name, Kosovo's independence is interconnected. She says she understands personal independence because Kosovo will have prime ministers as long as there will be Kosovo presidents and MPs. But only one generation has lost its burden, privilege and responsibility to lead these processes. The state is declared only once, the prime ministers will always have, but only one prime minister has read and declared Kosovo independence”.
Chitaku feels that the fact that Albin Kurti will not be mentioned is very distressing.
I think it's obsessed with the lack of its role in the defined historical processes of this country. But he has had the opportunity to write his history, to membership Kosovo in NATO and the Council of Europe, to influence the economic development and welfare of citizens. Unfortunately, Albin Kurti will enter history not in the bright part of it”, she said.
Citaku has also been asked to complete the process at The Hague for former KLA leaders.
The PDK MP is optimistic about the end of this process and expects KLA leaders to come to Kosovo in March next year.
This should not only be the expectations of the PDK, the institutions of Kosovo, the people, and each of us await it with anxiety but also with hope at the end of this process. Our expectations are somewhere next spring to make the decision, and we have Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, in Kosovo, she said. /Periscope/
