Former US Ambassador to Tirana Yuri Kim has officially ended a long and prominent diplomatic career, after a total of 29 years of service at the American State Department.

The news has made Kim aware by means of a social networking post, where it emphasizes gratitude for the opportunity to serve her country and the emotions associated with that conclusion.

With gratitude for the opportunity to serve my country as a diplomat, I will officially withdraw from the State Department next week. I am proud to have served 29 years under five presidents and ten Secretarys of State. I close this chapter with a heart full of hope for the next generation of public servants. Yuri Kim has represented the US in key positions and playing an important role in the country's foreign policy. Among its most important positions was that of the United States Ambassador to Albania.
