From cemetery to spectacular escape, as 47-year-old Albanian disappeared during his brother's mortar ceremony in Australia

Australian authorities follow research into Albanian Orriol Rukaj, who fled spectacularly during his participation in his brother's funeral in Melbourne, and for more than six weeks there is no trace of him.
According to police, the 47-year-old man, who was in custody for serious charges related to narcotics trafficking, was allowed to participate in the mortary ceremony held at a Melbourne cemetery, where about 300 people also attended.
Rukaj was accompanied to ceremonies by employees of the correcting system and even attended as coffin holders. After the ceremony ended, however, authorities realized that he was no longer on the scene.
According to investigators, the Albanian allegedly fled in a black-coloured Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle, which he had waited for near the cemetery. Police believe he has been helped by other people to organise the escape.
