Thus, as foreign media report, Telegrafi records, by the end of September, drivers will be able to test the highest limit in a new section of the D3 highway between Tábor and réské Budjovice.
The current maximum of 130km/h will remain predetermined.
The 150km/h border will be implemented only in favourable weather, dry roads, calm traffic and no ongoing construction.
“Conditions must be absolutely ideal. There should be no queues, slippery surfaces and reduced visibility”, said Jan R58dl, spokesman for the APUSD, conveys the telegraph.
The system will be managed centrally by the National Transport Information Centre, which will decide when the higher speed can safely be activated.
Changing traffic signs, supplied by the Mobility and Intelligence consortium and Známy Morava, are currently being decided. During their installation, traffic in D3 is restricted to one lane for about seven miles.
The test covers approximately 50 kilometers and if it will be successful, the highest limit could later be extended to other major roads, such as D1 from Pãorov to Ostrava or D11 to Hradec Králové. /Periscope/
