However, two political subjects that were meant to get approval for certificates today did not pass. Their names were their own; the one was spellingly wrong, the other resembled the Democratic League of Kosovo.
Pristina's “permission was rejected by the LDK member in the CEC, saying it is contrary to the principles of the certificate of political subjects, since, according to him, this appointment is very similar to the context and the identity of the LDK.
The Office for Recording, Certificate and Financial Control of political parties in the CEC has attracted from the list the civic initiative “Movement for the Albanian Union”, due to spelling error in the word “Albanian”
The CEC's decision has criticised Eugen Cakoli KDI, who said this bureaucracy has changed to censorship.
“The CEC has been continuing today with the illegal and meaningless practice of violating the constitutional right of subjects to participate in elections only because of their name. An initiative has been rejected because its name resembled the LDK slogan of 2017 with persistence of the latter. Another was refused for a spelling error. It's just bureaucracy turned into censorship. The right to compete is the foundation of democracy”.
Cakolli said that no party has a monopoly on centres or campaign memories and said CEC members are no lecturers.
For worse, it is unacceptable to refuse subjects for language error, you say CEC members are lecturers. The rules should be implemented equally, not according to the whims or interests of party representatives in the CEC”.
