International event in Kosovo: Citizens from Colombia, Venezuela, Turkey arrested for prostitution

Kosovo police have conducted a series of operations across the country, controlling 47 local live music and 67 massage centres. As a result, a total of 631 persons have been identified, including 314 foreign nationals. 30 locals have been closed for administrative violations. As a result, a total of 631 persons have been identified, including 314 foreign nationals. 30 locals have been closed for administrative violations.

Ten cases of maltreatment or rejection of children have been initiated, with 10 arrested (5 foreign citizens) and 15 children eroding have been identified.

Also, seven prostitution cases have been investigated, where 14 persons have been arrested, including citizens from Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil and Turkey. The detainees have been sentenced to fines and deportation measures for three years.

Another case has been initiated for “exploitation of trafficking victims”, with 5 arrested and a victim sheltered in shelter.

Operations have also been accompanied by sequencing of documents and further investigation into co-ordination with the Prosecutor.

As follows, the entire result of the Kosovo Police held international action.

Police operations conducted in the upper run have resulted in the enterprise of action and the initiative of cases and persons involved as follows:
The inspection/control of 47 locals (Live music) throughout the entire territory of the Republic of Kosovo, where they have come across a total:
•482 persons (352 females and 130 males),
• of them 204 Kosovo citizens,
•278 foreign citizens (264 Albania, 8 Serbia, 5 North Macedonia, 1 Montenegro),
•From these surveyed establishments 8 have been closed for administrative violations by MINT inspectors.
Inspecting 67 massage centers where they encountered a total:
•149 persons (114 females and 35 males),
•113 Kosovo citizens,
•36 foreign citizens of Albania (23, 11 of Thailand, 1 of northern Macedonia, 1 of Malawi)
•from locals massage centre 22 have been closed for administrative violations by MINT inspectors.
Within the framework of successful operations has initiated cases and taken action as follows:
Initiating 10 cases of criminal acts of wrongdoing or abandoning a child, where they were arrested:
•10 suspected women
•5 Kosovo citizens
•5 foreign citizens (4 Albanian citizens, 1 citizen of North Macedonia)
• 15 children of the elderly have been identified, out of them eight Kosovars and 7 foreign citizens.
•There have also been three other cases of seeking charity referred to by the police station competent for wrongdoing.
Initiation of the 7 cases of prostitution taking place identified as ESKORTA, where they were arrested:
•14 suspects, of them 7 Kosovar males and female foreign nationals 3 from Colombia, 2 from Venezuela, 1 from Brazil, 1 from Turkey and are referred to for treatment under foreign law, and seven female foreign nationals (1 members of Venezuela, 5 from Colombia, 1 Turkish).
All suspects involved in prostitution fraud cases have been sent to court, where they have been convicted of fines as well as a supplementary measure of expulsion from Kosovo territory, as well as a three-year ban on the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.
All the workers encountered working in local music and massage centres have been given the opportunity to declare whether any of them is the victim of some form of exploitation, but it has not resulted in any case. A total of seven documents from foreign persons have been seized in this plan, which are referred to as verification and treatment under foreign law.
Within the framework of activities during this operational plan, another case has been initiated for criminal activity the exploitation of trafficking victims, where they have been arrested and interviewed:
• Four male Kosovo citizens as suspects.
Following the operational-investigative investigation has been implemented by the Constitutional Prosecutor's Office in Gjilan for specific investigative measures which the ordinance has been implemented in connection with allegations of carrying out the criminal offence or forced into prostitution, where a Kosovo male person was arrested. The victim of the Kosovo female case has been sheltered in shelter for victims of violence.
