Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimovic said on the show “Globus” on TVCG that Montenegro is making good steps in the area of European integrations and that the approaching intergovernmental conference will be a good confirmation of that. He stressed that it is already being talked about closing a certain number of chapters and that this Government is working and achieving results.
We see the European Commission for Rule of Law as confirmation of joint work and we will be even more determined and more active. We are partners with the European Commission and the European Union, and I am grateful that we stress where we should focus more efforts”, Ibrahimovic stressed.
He stressed that the current government will not change the course and is committed to European and Euro-Atlantic values.
As for Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe and the support Montenegro has given this process, Ibrahimovic said it would not jeopardise the government coalition, because the foreign policy goals are clear.
“Montenegro is recognised by international partners as a state that preserves good neighbourly relations. Therefore, we will support our friend state, Kosovo, because it is a priority in our foreign policy and does not conflict with our intention to be the future member of the European Union”, Ibrahimovic said./Periscopi/
