US President Donald Trump has made it clear that he does not plan to cut the country's military budget, which amounts to $1 trillion.
During his talk at the West Point graduation ceremony, Trump insisted that despite various speculations, he would not touch a cent of the budget.
“We just received a military budget of $1 trillion,” said Trump, adding that some people had asked if this budget could be cut short, and he had responded to “no, I'm not cutting 10 cents”. The president also stressed that, although the defence budget would not be affected, there were opportunities to make savings in other areas.
In his speech, Trump also mentioned the major changes that have taken place in the way modern wars develop, stressing that the use of fears has brought about a significant transformation. “They have introduced a thing called fears,” he said, adding that soldiers should learn a whole new “warform”.
