Despite the number of attempts already reached two figures, the winning election party, the Vetevendosje Movement, continues to give no signals of Albulen Hadziu's candidacy for chairmanship of the Parliament, even though it has so far failed to secure the necessary majority of votes.
In the latest attempt to unblock the situation, Vetevendosje proposed establishing an ad-hoc commission for the secret vote, including MP Iron Murati as a member.
However, this initiative met with fierce opposition resistance. The chairman of the session, Avni Dehari, addressed the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) to nominated a representative on the commission, but the request was met with strong response from the leader PDK, Memli Krasniqi.
“It was immediately interrupted by Dehar, while tensions in the hall increased.
The PDK has warned that it will not participate in any process that, according to it, conflicts with the Constitution and regulations of the Parliament.
Meanwhile, the stalled situation has raised concerns about the democratic functioning of institutions and the possibility of a prolonged political crisis. /Periscope/
