After reaching the mineral deal, Trump and Zelensky react

Speaking on Tuesday evening, Trump confirmed American involvement in an important mineral country in Ukraine, citing strategic and economic benefits, broadcast Periscope.

“We have an American field presence that helps keep dangerous elements out of the country or at least from the area”, the American leader said.

The agreement, signed just hours ago, is seen as the first concrete result from the sudden dialogue between the two leaders during Pope Francis' funeral at the Vatican.

According to Zelensky, the deal will not add any debt burden to Ukraine. Instead, a “Fond recovery” will be created to attract investments in the mining and infrastructure sectors in Ukraine.

The agreement aims to bring economic benefits to both countries, while strengthening Ukraine's national defence through strategic co-operation and the American presence in the country.
