KFOR Waiting ceremony: Slovakia contributes troops to Kosovo security

With this development, the total number of troops in KFOR has reached over 4700 soldiers from 33 different countries. Six of these countries have joined during the last year and a half, including France and Portugal in January and September 2024, as well as Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands last month.
KFOR Commander Major General Enrico Bardonini conducted the ceremony and stressed that Slovakia's participation reinforces the Atlantic Alliance's continued commitment to lasting security in Kosovo and regional stability.
“KFOR remains committed to ensuring a safe environment for all citizens and communities in Kosovo, in line with UN mandate based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244, closely co-operating with the Kosovo Police and the EU's mission to rule of law in Kosovo EULEX. The title Slovakia joins KFOR as a contributing country with troops”, the report said. /Periscope/
