She thanked Prime Minister Edi Rama for the excellent hospitality and praised the meeting as a powerful “ibol” that shows the region's proximity to the European Union. The European Commission president said this was the first meeting of this kind held in the Western Balkans and described it as an evidence of the EU's commitment to continue efforts to integrate countries in the region.
Our European family of values is bigger than the European Union's borders. We share a continent and a common future,” added von der Leyeen, conveying a powerful message for a close and stable future between the EU and the Western Balkans.
