When 98% of ballot boxes within Albania are counted, the Socialist Party is heading towards victory, securing a fourth government mandate of 82 seats in the Assembly.
With 52.1% of the national vote, The SP has received 727,592 votes, marking a deep victory over the Democratic Party, which has received 34.36%, or 477,797 votes, translated into 52 mandates -- a decline compared to the 2021 elections, when the DP had 63 mandates.
The Socialist Party's growth has been felt in all counties, even in traditional rightist bookies. In Debar, The SP has overturned the outcome, gaining an unexpected advantage. So far, the count has ended in nine circuits: Berat, Debar, Lezha, Kukes, Gjirokastra, Korca, Vlora, Elbasan and Shkodra, as follows in Tirana, Fier and Durres.
The parallel count of the diaspora vote, which for the first time is contributing as a result, again gives rise The SP's with 55.3% of the vote, compared to 28.4% that have gone to the DP and the Allies. This vote is expected to particularly affect large circles such as Tirana, Durres and Fieri.
