Of the Central Election Commission's preliminary data and current projections, Albania's Socialist Party continues to lead with a convincing result, receiving 52.49% of valid national-level votes, which translate into 506,129 votes.
Second place is the Democratic Party coalition for Greater Albania (PD-ASHM), with 34.11% of the vote, or 328,932 votes won to this stage of counting. This result positiones the opposition as the country's second political force, with a significant margin from the SP, but also with a large distance from other smaller parties.
The third political force in the country under the general vote results in the Social Democrat Party (PSD), which has so far secured 3.62% of the vote, which is translated into about 34,931 votes. Close enough, instead of fourth, is the Albania Initiative Coalition, with 33% of the vote, or 34,066 votes.
Meanwhile, the option party has secured 2.87% of the vote, or 27,716 votes in total, leaving behind other smaller political forces. Movement Together has received 1.33% of the vote (12,855 votes), while the Euro-Atlantic Coalition Party (KEA) has secured 1.24% (12,001 votes). Other subjects, such as the Homeland Movement, the Albanian National Alliance, the New Democracy Alliance and the Right Coalition for Development, result in minimal percentages below 1%.
Given this percentage of the vote and the current scheme to split mandates, the Socialist Party is designed to secure 82 mandates in the next Assembly, preserving the majority needed to govern alone.
While the coalition P The UN-FOR is expected to have 52 mandates -- a figure confirming its role as the main opposition force. Of the remaining 6 mandates, three are expected to go to Social Democrat Party (PSD), while a mandate is designed to win the option Party, the Coalition Initiative Albania becomes and the Movement Together./Periscopi/
