Kosovo police arrest three war crimes suspects against civilian population
Pristina, April 21, 2025
Kosovo police, the Directorate for Investigation of War Crimes, today date 21.04.2024 in co-ordination with the Special Prosecutor of the War Crimes Department, on April 21st, 2025, after a long investigative activity, have undertaken several operational actions with the aim of tracking and arresting three (3) suspects allegedly committing war crimes against civilian population during the Kosovo war.
Initially in the town of Lipjan in two separate locations, the suspect B.T. has been located and arrested. Male and suspected N.H.E. The female. In the course of operational activity in Pristina, the third suspect M.I. has been located and arrested. Male. The same are suspected of criminal activity “wage war crimes against the civilian population” committed during 1998-1999 in Pristina and Lipjan Prison, in the quality of the elite guards in Pristina prison and the Lipjan corrective Centre have participated in the torture, beating, physical and mental torture of Albanian detainees.
The detainees have been escorted to the War Crimes Investigation Directorate's offices and are being interviewed.
Kosovo police are committed to continuing with investigations and close co-operation with relevant authorities to ensure justice regarding war crimes in Kosovo.
