He cited the recommendation of former EU High Representative Josep Borrell to remove them and said discussions within the European Council continue.
I'm afraid I can't give a final answer to that question. As you know, the former High Representative recommended to the Council in June 2024 the removal of the measures. Later, in December 2024, the Council in its conclusions for enlargement stated that the EU would gradually remove measures parallel to Kosovo's further steps to de-tradition tensions in the north. Discussions within the Council continue and the decision on whether the measures will be removed eventually belongs to the 27 EU member states, as such a decision requires consensus”, he told Kosovo Online.
Orav said the new High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security, Kaya Kallas, wants Kosovo to progress on its path to the EU.
The key conditions for the road to the EU for both Kosovo and Serbia is normalising relations and implementing dialogue commitments”, he reiterated Union calls for Kosovo and Serbia.
