Council for the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms ( KMDLNj has reacted sharply to the Energy Regulatory Office's decision ( ZRGE for the price of electricity for 16%.
In a long and direct statement, KMDLNj calls ZRE officials “soldiers” and “organised criminal structures”, charging them with fraud, civil poverty and violation of the people's economic and social rights.
Despite the plebiscitary rejection of citizens against the expensive energy, ZRE robbers made a decision today that the bills would be 16% higher. This is a direct blow to citizens from a government in office and a politicised body”, said in response, broadcasts Periscope.
KMDLNj proposes organising daily protests in all Kosovo cities and demanding the dismissal and criminal investigation of ZRE and the relevant ministry.
In addition, compensation is required for the illegally collected money over the past 15 years and the removal of tariff discrimination, including the 2-euro fixed tax of over 500 thousand units.
Kosovo citizens should not rule out even the hunger strike to protect their survival against the perpetrators of any government and its criminal instrument ZRE”, the announcement is further said.
The council invites all trade unions, social categories, war veterans, students and all class of society to join protests and seek increases in salaries, pensions and social aid.
“Citizens should not allow their right requests to be brutally ignored by those paid with unaffordable salaries for most people”, the statement concludes.
