KDI researcher Violet Hajoli, said the focus of the report is on digitalisation and green agenda.
According to her, within the agenda of European reforms, Kosovo has made progress in developing the 5G network as part of the 2030 digital agenda, but added that greater commitment is needed within the green agenda.
As a failure she cited a lack of digital skills, especially in the education sector.
On the other hand, she said Kosovo has set energy and climate targets by 2030, which included increasing the renewable energy share by 32 percent and reducing greenhouse gases by 16.3 percent.
“The digitalization part can say that there has been progress in improving infrastructure and convergence. Kosovo has reached a 100 per cent internet extension that exceeds the EU average. This is the most positive development from the part of digitalisation, while the part of as we have received obligations and required by the EU for Kosovo to make efforts to implement even the 5G technology that is developing, but it has to go on. The next positive step is the adoption of the Digital Agency Strategy, which includes many aspects of digital development and the goals that Kosovo has set for itself to further advance towards the country's digital development... Kosovo has set energy and climate targets by 2030, which included increasing energy share by 32 percent and reducing greenhouse gases to 16.3 percent. It has also passed laws that must come to the Assembly and be adopted as soon as possible, and there are also agreements that must be ratified in the Parliament”, she said.
