According to the IMF, the US will be among the advanced economies that will be hit mostly by the uncertainty caused by trade tariffs and other economic policy tensions.
In the same report, The IMF has also predicted a decrease in the economic growth of the United Kingdom, which will be affected by the effects of Brex and continued uncertainty. The UK's growth project is also lowered in proportion to previous projections.
Meanwhile, US financial markets have begun a recovery after Monday's major losses, caused partly by Donald Trump's comments to Jerome Powell, the head of the US Central Bank.
Trump named Powell as a big “loss” for not lowering the interest rate, provoking concerns about the possible impact of these tensions on the country's monetary policies.
In response to this situation, Gita Gopinath, the IMF's chief economist, stressed that it is “kic” for central banks to maintain an independent line and do everything necessary to control inflation and preserve economic stability.
She added that the impact of political tensions and the setting of tariffs is a serious risk to the global economy./Periscopi/
