Entantiated views on Slovak prime minister last year published, Fico must be re-opened

A documentary called “Slovakia on a spiral of violence” by Finnish public broadcaster YLE, which appeared on April 14th 2025, contains previously unprecedented images of the attempted assassination against Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, reports The Slovenk Spectator news portal, broadcast Periscopi. “Slovakia on a spiral of violence” lasts 50 [...]
“Slovakia on a spiral of violence” lasts 50 minutes and ends with a clip showing events immediately after the assassination against Fico. The images also contain disturbing images that have never been broadcast publicly before. The moment in the video is seen when the bomber opens fire on Slovak prime minister, the prime minister's ground collapse and Fico security guards' intervention, Jutarni List reports.

The tape was made by a cameraman from Radio Priedusza. TV station director Dana Reindlová decided not to broadcast the most disturbing parts of the census for ethical reasons. Reindlová gave the footage to Finnish documentary filmmakers only after Fico had recovered. The Slovak television station decided to co-operate with the Finnish when it learned that the images would be part of a documentary, not a recent news story.
“Slovakia on a spiral of violence” also covers the murder of investigative journalist Ján Kuciac in 2018 and the shooting in front of Tepláre's cafe in Bratislava, which is frequented by LGBT community members.
Slovak Spectator writes that the Slovak public still does not know exactly what injuries Fico suffered when he was shot by 71-year-old Yuray Cintula on May 15th 2024. Defence Minister Robert Caliák ék long-time ally of Fico and a member of his political party Smier Social Democracy recently showed photos of Fico's jacket and shirt wet with blood. He described the prime minister as a “Terminator that does not surrender”.
Caliák said the prime minister's mentioned pieces of clothing were transported from the hospital to the police in his car. This move was severely criticized. It is not known if Fico has allowed Caliák to publish pictures of his bloody clothes, writes The Slovenian Spectator , broadcast Periscope..
Last week, Fico said in the Slovak parliament that he would have to undergo another operation and that MPs do not ask him what his injuries actually look like. “You bet on the time of my death”, Fico, told opposition deputies at some point. /Periscopi/
