The Albanian American Relations Council (Albanian American Regimes Council ARC) has asked Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro and North Macedonia to take pro-active measures by suspending all tariffs for American goods.
This council has simultaneously praised President Vjosa Osmani for her leadership in the immediate proposal to suspend tariffs in US imports.
This initiative is a strategic step towards deepening economic ties with the United States and refers to broader foreign policy objectives. We encourage the Government of Kosovo to move ahead with the approval and implementation of this policy without delay”.
The AARC calls on the governments of Albania, Montenegro and North Macedonia to follow Kosovo's example by eliminating tariffs for US imports.
Such a unified approach not only would reinforce the commitment of these nations to economic co-operation but also send a powerful message both to the United States and to the European Union for their ability to engage in a constructive regional co-operation”.
The American Council of Relations also calls on these four countries to work together in establishing a joint comprehensive proposal for the United States.
This proposal should target an integrated and dynamic economic environment that attracts greater American investments. With the introduction of a common front, these countries can create a larger and more competitive market that stimulates economic growth and cements long-term trade relations with the United States”.
“Beyond economic benefits, such an initiative would demonstrate a common commitment to the values of free trade, open markets and strategic alliances that are essential for partnership with the US and EU integration efforts. Enhancing co-operation and economic harmonisation with the US could further strengthen the positions of these peoples as valuable contributors to the transatlantic community”.
The AARC stresses that it is ready to support initiatives promoting economic stability, regional prosperity, and stronger diplomatic relations between the Western Balkans and the United States.
“We urgently ask policymakers in Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro and Northern Macedonia to seize this opportunity to reinforce their ties with the US by demonstrating their commitment to regional unity and towards economic progress”, the council's bid reportedly broadcast. Periscope.
The United States of America has warned a 10% fee for imports from Albania, Kosovo and Montenegro, while North Macedonia faces a markedly higher fee of 33 percent.
