Pope Francisescu, who is hospitalised for more than two weeks and facing double pneumonia, is in a state of “table”, after spending a quiet “one night”, the Vatican said on March 2nd.
“Papa is continuing to fire”, the Vatican said in its recent update regarding the state of health of 88-year-old Catholic Church leader.
On Saturday evening, the Vatican said that the pope was receiving oxygen but had no temperature, eating, and praying.
His hemodinamic parameters related to the circulation of blood are also stable, and the pope does not have high numbers of white cells in the blood, often pointing to an infection, the Vatican said, adding that the prognosis, as in the early days, remains of “restorved”.
Francisescu, who leads 1.4 billion Catholics worldwide, was admitted to Rome's Gemelli Hospital on February 14th with the tank that soon took place in pneumonia in two lungs.
Last weekend, the Vatican reported that it was in a state of “critical”, after undergoing a major respiratory attack, fuelling concerns about the pope's situation.
After a series of reports that the situation had improved, the Vatican said Friday that Francescu had suffered an isolated respiratory crisis.
Catholics and others worldwide have prayed for the health of the pope, who leads the Church for almost 12 years.
Believers have repeatedly gone to the Gemmel hospital and prayed for the Pope, left written messages to him, including postaries created by children.
In the last two years, the Pope has faced several health problems. He is prone to lung infections because he had removed part of his lungs when he was young. / REL/
