A total of eight people injured by the fire at the Kocan discotheque, three of whom are under 18 years of age, said hospital director at Pirogov Valentin Dimitrov for BTA.
Three of those admitted are under 18 years of age two girls and one son, and the rest are four men and one woman, on average 22-25 years old. The oldest patient is 31 years old.
Their condition is severe. According to Dr. Valentin Dimitrov, three of the victims have been assembled, while the rest are awaiting further assessment of their situation and treatment plan. The hospital has everything it needs, added Dr. Dimitrov. All patients have been transferred to Pirogov with severe thermal shocks ʹ very difficult for every organism, and however quickly we react, these are the facts, he added.
Blood centres in Sofia, Plovdiv and Stara Zagora responded to the hospital's need for blood, but blood donors are always needed locally and should not stop with blood donation initiatives, demanded Dr. Dimitrov. Next will be meetings with the family of patients who have been transferred from Kocani, Republic of Northern Macedonia, he added.
Six of the wounded were admitted to the Hospital in Varna and St George Hospital in Plovdiv.
Bulgaria has pledged to accept 14 people for treatment./Periscopi/
