Removing sanctions against Russia would be a big mistake. That's what German Cancler Olaf Scholz said. His reaction was from Paris at the conclusion of the summit for Ukraine.
“What is important to us is the fact that lifting economic sanctions on Russia will be a serious mistake. Sanctions must continue, even they must continue to strengthen, and the EU and the US must take a strong, united stance so that support for Ukraine can continue. There is no point in lifting sanctions until peace has been achieved and disasters will be a distant time”, said Olaf Scholz, German incumbent Chancellor, broadcast Periscope.
The same opinion has been expressed by French President Emmanuel Macron, who at the conclusion of the summit, said that “is not the time to lift sanctions against Russia”, specifying that they will continue to exert pressure on Moscow and its fleet in shadow.
French President Emmanuel Macron also announced at the end of the Paris summit that he was sending “a Franco-britonic team” to prepare what tomorrow's” Ukrainian army will be.
At that point it is known that the facts speak differently in the field. According to Ukrainian sources, Russian forces are intensifying their attacks along the northeast border. The goal is to infiltrate the Sumy region, says Ukraine's top general, Oleksandr Syrskyj, during a visit to entities in the region. Sumy borders the Russian district of Kursk.
There the Ukrainian troops were almost completely expelled from Russian territory, which they had seized in a cross-border offensive in August.
