Speaking to protests in Serbia, he says that if the Union of S'e changes its approach to the region could have threats of war, more instability and nationalism, Roth has written on X, it broadcasts Periscope.
“Serbs have been protesting European values for weeks. But they no longer view the EU as an ally. Hardly anyone in the Western Balkans believes in an EU perspective anymore. Protesters are disappointed with the EU. The EU has co-operated with [Serbian president] It was a long time since”.
Roth said the EU would lose the Western Balkans as a region.
Our policy for the Western Balkans has failed. We need a “Zeitenend”, otherwise we face the threat of war, even more instability, nationalism and authoritarianism. We should not lose the Western Balkans as a region of democracy, rule of law, freedom, security and prosperity”.
Roth received the President Vjosa Osmani Presidency Medal for his role and contribution to Kosovo a few days ago.
“Zeitwenend” is a German term referring to a “historical variable” or “Alternal” and used to describe a deep and unexpected change in a given time period.
