Around 2:30, Gendarmerie was presented from the direction of Strazhilovska Street and Mihajlo Pupina boulevard. They then positioned near the fence set in front of the municipal building on Zharka Zrenjanina Street.
The students remained between two groups of gendarmes, which were pushing from both sides. One part remained at the main entrance of the building, reports N1info, broadcasts the Kosovo Clan, Periscopi broadcast.
Another group, meanwhile, has blocked the assembly's back entrance. The riot police emerged from the court's direction and attacked the students, who were blocking the court entrance, then pulled the sticks and started beating. Some students were hurt on that occasion, including a student. Then the police began pushing the students to the gendarmerie cord. They also beat those who were still standing in the main entrance of the assembly. Gendarmerie eventually pushed police away from further use of force.
Students have cheered on several occasions “go to Kosovo”. They also tried to explain to the police that they were on the same side and that there was no need for strength, and also begged them to remove the masks. After crowds and shouting, the situation calmed down.
Professors and citizens later brought blankets and stiropores so that students could face the very cold night blocked in front of the Novi Sad municipality. /Periscopi/
