Kosovo Institute for Justice Executive Director Ehat Miftaraj said that the refusal of Prime Minister Kurti to order the Constitutional Court in Pristina to give a witness to Special Prosecution is bad news for the rule of law in Kosovo.
According to him, he is misusing the fragility of the justice system and the lack of courage of prosecutors in the case.
“I believe this is very bad news for the rule of law in Kosovo, for the independence of the judicial system and the prosecutorial system, when a prime minister is invited as a witness for a criminal process that is being investigated by the Special Prosecutor and the same refuses to respond positively to the prosecution's invitation, but also the Court's order testifies to the same respect for the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo and for the rule of law in Kosovo<1>, he told RTV21.
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has not responded to the Pristina Foundation Court's order to appear in the Prosecutor's Office, where he has been invited to witness quality regarding the state reserve issue.
