Lawyer Arianan Koci has reacted after the death of former Kosovo president Hashim Thaci, Haxhi Thaci.
Koci through a post on the social Facebook network has stressed that Hashim Thaci has been denied several times the right to visit his father in his final moments of life.
“Haji Thaci separated from this world. Kosovo lost a man. But more than that this week witnessed an injustice, a complete lack of humanity. More than once, Hashim Thaci was refused the right to visit his dying father. More than once, a judicial panel in The Hague failed to convince that a man was dying. They let him wait. They let him hope. And when they finally gave him permission, it was late. And all of this becomes even more serious when we remember that Hashim Thaci is not simply banned he is isolated thousands of miles from Kosovo, in a detention that ends”, he wrote.
According to Koci, this situation becomes even more serious considering that Thaci is located in an endless detention at The Hague, thousands of miles from his country. He emphasizes that justice is not only procedure and order but also sensitivity.
There are no more excuses. Permission should be given to attend his father's funeral. That's how humanity loves it. That's how justice calls for it. Rest in peace, Haxhi Thaci.
Truth may be late, but it never loses”, Koci wrote.
