In this incident, which took place on November 1st last year, 15 persosnas died.
The excise rose against investment development manager at the “company. Serbia's” Railway Infrastructure Slobodanka K., Chairman of the Commission for Technical Inspection of the Hekurudor Station in Novi Sad, Milutin S., and member of this commission, Bilana K.
“Acuza was established in connection with the conduct of criminal acts with corrupt elements, which resulted in the collapse of the” shelter, said Chief Public Prosecutor Nenad Stefanovic.
He said there are reasonable doubts that their concessions are related to the cause of tragedy.
Since this incident has occurred, students in Serbia have organised mass protests and blockades in several cities in the country, seeking criminal and political responsibility for the case.
Serbia's prime minister, Milos Vuchev, has resigned, as has Novi Sad chairman Milan Djuric.
Student Requests
Students' requests for stopping blockades include publishing full documentation for the reconstruction of Novi Sad's Novi Sad Iron Station to determine responsibility for the November 1st, 2024 accident.
They also demand that demonstrators throughout Serbia, during the protests that followed the accident, identify and face criminal responsibility.
The requirements include the release of activists arrested during the protests, the ban on criminal procedures against them, as well as the increase in the budget for universities.
Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, has said students' demands have been met, but their protests continue. /REL
