A day after his office was broken, the budget director in Gjilan resigns

The event took place a day after her office was allegedly broken by Vetevendosje activists.

So at least they claimed the president of the PDK branch in this town, Riyadh Rashit.

“The last extraordinary scandal is that the budget director in Gjilan, VV activists (family of a VV assembly) had switched the cylinders to her office or made copies of the key, interfering and access to her office without permission when she was present at work. And in that case, the budget and finance director has requested the assistance of the Kosovo Police, which is already doing its investigation work”, he wrote among other things on Facebook.

Klankosova.tv has contacted the director, now removed from the post, to get a promotion from her, but until the moment the news was published has not been responded to the Clan.

The resignation is reported to have been announced through a letter.

In this letter she wrote that the situation in the municipality is regarded as unacceptable and uncertain.

In the letter, she stressed that after a long period of government crisis and uncertainty, she decided to leave office, citing as the reason for blocking the budget's adoption for 2025 and actions unacceptable to her by unidentified persons.

The former “culette” of Gjilan says this municipality is in a deep crisis, due to the lack of a functional majority in the Municipal Assembly, which has led to the inability to implement projects and provide services for citizens.

For several months, the municipality of Gjilan is undergoing a deep governing crisis, as a result of the lack of a functional majority in the Municipal Assembly. This has resulted in blocking budget approval for 2025, unable to implement projects and provide services for our citizens. Although I have publicly warned at the Municipal Assembly meeting on possible problems that could happen by the way the draft budget was voted for 2025, this did not get your attention. In such a situation, my job as director has become impossible and totally meaningless“.

She also mentioned a recent incident, when it is suspected that unauthorized persons entered her office during her absence, calling the move a sign of institutional uncertainty.

The director, who has served in this capacity, expresses confidence that she could no longer contribute to such an environment, where institutional values and governing ethics are threatened.

For these and many other reasons, I have made the decision to submit my irrevocable resignation, convinced that in such an environment, I cannot contribute professionally, honestly and effectively to citizens”.

She expressed thanks for her associates and the citizens of Gjilan for the support and confidence given during the term in office.
