Even after declaring he's willing to resign on the condition that Ukraine be placed in NATO, President Volodymyr Zelensky, has said the North Atlantic Alliance is the option and simple solution for his country.
Zelensky has written on the social network X Sunday that if Ukraine does not join NATO, it will be forced to create “NATO within Ukraine”. According to him, it would mean holding an army strong enough to ward off aggression.
“NATO is the most economical alternative to preventing another war. It's the simplest and most logical solution. If Ukraine does not join NATO, we will have to create NATO within Ukraine, which means keeping an army strong enough to ward off aggression, its financing, production...”, he wrote.
Zelensky has indicated that Ukraine needs lasting and reliable peace, and that, according to him, can be achieved on guarantee of Western powers.
We want a good economic agreement that will be part of a real security guarantee system for Ukraine and the free world. Our teams are working every day and we are making great progress. Ukraine wants a strong deal”, he said.
