Kellogg's visit to Kiev is taking place at the time of increasing tensions between Ukraine and the United States, as US President Donald Trump has sharply criticised his Ukrainian counterpart, Voldymyr Zelensky.

Zelensky has responded to Trump's accusations, saying he is stuck “in the area of dezination” coming from Russia, but one day later he has declared that he hopes in American pragmatism.
