President Trump is expected to sign an executive order to make English the official language of the United States, abolishing policies that require federal agencies to offer linguistic assistance to non-speaking people.
The order argues that English making official languages will unite the US, saying around 180 countries have an official language and that while over 350 languages are spoken in the United States, English is the most used.
“Agencys will have flexibility to decide how and when to offer services in languages other than English to serve the American people best and fulfill their mission of agency”, it is written on a sheet of data on the order.
