Gjici, convicted of involvement in a sexual affair in the Alma K office, which has also been sentenced by the cut-shaped JNCO Appeal, requires that he be released from prison due to health problems.
On June 24th, 2023, the Special Appeal has changed the first degree decision, increasing the sentence on Gjitius to 4 years and 6 months in prison for abuse of office and passive corruption, following an investigation that had revealed the criminal work of “passive corruption of senior state officials or local elected”, the euronews reports.
Gjici was arrested in June last year, and due to his cut trial, his sentence was reduced to three years in prison, of which there is less than a year left. Because of his state of health, he has requested parole.
