The spring season seems to be the period of the year when people begin to consume more processed food and to get fewer to the gym.
“This effect is stronger on people who regularly go to the gym,” Says Richica Richika, professor at North Carolina State University.
“People who have a regular time for training are affected by the time difference. This negative effect of longer days and warmer weather is one more incentive not to be confined to the gym but to enjoy another activity. ”
The two studies were published in the <x0--Journal of Marketing” this month, where one examines the eating habits and in the other the gym customs.
In the first study, researchers worked with a US-based food company to collect consumer data between 2004 and 2010. All in attendance used a mobile phone to register food they ate over a two - week period.
In the second study, researchers collaborated with a national chain of gyms that provided evidence of how many people went to the gym during the spring season, with weather heating, and the duration of days.
Both studies proved the professor's speculation that the spring hour and long days have a full impact on people's healthy habits.
This is not the first study to show the negative effects of springtime, and how this affects such situations as depression, anxiety, and seasonal environmental disorder, according to “Harward Health Planning”, Anabel quoted.
It seems that delaying darkness results in another consequence - the decay of melantonin production, which makes it more difficult for the body to rest and sleep at a certain time.
