“If our trade interests, Europe, are attacked as a real power, it will have to be respected and therefore react to”, the French president said as he arrived for an informal defence meeting with other leaders in Brussels on Monday.
“The elections and recent statements by the administration of the new US president were pushing the EU to be more united and more active in responding to collective security issues”, he said, the euronews report.

Trump added that although there was no specific timetable for European tariffs, it is something that will happen very soon.
