The case occurred last night around 8:00, while the Task Force unit during the implementation of official duties has accepted information on the introduction of various goods smuggled across mountain roads.
Police have banned a vehicle with SK license plates from northern Macedonia, which transported goods to a quick post, allegedly smuggled illegally.
During vehicle ban, suspected persons have attacked police and customs officials with their vehicle, causing bodily injuries and damaging an official vehicle.
As it turns out, one of the detainees had been arrested several days earlier for another smuggling case.

Prevention of an attempt to smuggle goods into eastern border

Kosovo police, namely, the East Regional Border Directorate Units in co-operation with customs officials have prevented a case of attempted smuggling goods from Northern Macedonia in the direction of the Republic of Kosovo.
By 2602.2025, about 8:00, the Task Force unit has accepted information on the introduction of various goods smuggled across mountain roads. As a result of quick operational actions, the alleged Sharan vehicle with SK license plates from Northern Macedonia, which carried goods to a quick post, was suspected to be illegally smuggled.
During vehicle ban, suspected persons have attacked police and customs officials with their vehicle, causing bodily injuries and damaging an official vehicle.
As a result of this incident, suspected persons have been arrested by Kosovo Police, and at the order of the State Prosecutor have been sent to the detention centre for 48 hours.
One of those arrested had been arrested several days earlier for another smuggling case.
Investigations concerning the case are under way by the Ferizaj Regional Police Directorate in co-ordination with justice institutions.
Kosovo police and Kosovo Customs remain committed to fighting all forms of crime and smuggling, ensuring order and law in all border areas of the country.
