Citizens of Kosovo in the diaspora have voted in diplomatic representations for the February 9th elections.
At a media conference, the chairman of the Central Election Commission (KQZ), Kreshnik Radoniqi, has provided details yesterday from the voting process until 7:00 and the closure of seats in several states.
“From 20 thousand and 324 registered voters to vote in these representatives and from the data we have on participation until 1500 in the US and Canada, we announce that between 14,000 and 463 voters have voted in this election process or 71.16 percent. Later, we may have more general data from voter turnout to diplomatic representation after the vote is completed in these two states, Radoniqi said.
He has said the voting process has gone smoothly and that the results will be known much farther Monday.
No irregularities have been presented. The whole process went as planned and no problem... Initially, they will be secured in this building, and after the start of tomorrow's count, then the count of diaspora votes, conditional votes, and individual people's votes with special needs” begin, Radoniqi has said.
It on behalf of the CEC has rightly invited Kosovo citizens to vote to exercise their constitutional right to participate in the elections and invited political subjects to bring the laws into force.
We remember, to vote on Kosovo diplomatic representatives, 20,324 citizens have registered.
The vote began at 7: 00 a.m. at Kosovo embassies and consulates in the states of Europe, while in Canada and the US at 1: 00 a.m., with the local time of Kosovo.
The process is held at 43 locations in 16 embassies and 14 Kosovo consulates in 19 states: Austria, Belgium, Great Britain, Czechia, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, Italy, Canada, Croatia, northern Macedonia, Norway, the US, Slovenia, Sweden, Turkey and Switzerland.
This is the first time the diaspora has physically voted in Kosovo's diplomatic representations.
