In Reaction AV ONET stresses that the CEC as an independent constitutional body is failing to successfully realise its constitutional and legal obligations and responsibilities.
“Today, with a date of 12.02.2025 with the aim of monitoring the voting counting process and preserving the balloting, in terms of Article 4, paragraph 1, subparagraph 1.3. No. 08/2024 Election Monitors, AV ONET visited the Municipal Counting Centre in Ferizaj, where it confirmed that the voting-counting process of candidates has not yet begun”.
After that, AVONET adds that they express deep dissatisfaction over “with irresponsability and do not properly manage the voting counting process for candidates of political subjects on the part of the Central Election Commission”.
“According to Article 6, paragraph 2 of Electoral Order No. 16/2024 for the Municipal Counting Centres, the voting counting process of candidates begins at 8: 00 a.m. on the morning of tomorrow, after election day. So this number would have to start immediately with the date 10,02,2025, but still by 1202.2025, this count hasn't started”.
This violation of the election rules set by the CEC itself constitutes a dangerous and irresponsible behaviour that could greatly negatively affect the democratic process of the elections”.
AV The ONET calls on the CEC, which urgently undertakes mandatory legal and constitutional steps, in order to ensure that in the framework of the electoral process, the constitution and legitimacy of this process are being implemented in all.
