T7's Voter Counting Centre Threatened in Pec
The Association of Kosovo Journalists AGK has acknowledged with concern the obstruction of the T7 Television team by Peja Count Centre manager Abdurrahim Hadzisef. According to reports, journalist Arianit Zegrova and cameraman Gens Karaqi have been detained and prevented from carrying out their task, even threatened with a camera break.
The act is an unacceptable attack on media freedom and the work of journalists, who are tasked to inform the public of important processes such as that of counting votes. The most disturbing is the fact that this incident occurred in the presence of CEC leader Kreshnik Radoniqi, without any interference or move on his part.
The AGK calls on the Central Election Commission to take action against the person in question and to ensure a safe environment for journalists during the election process coverage.
