The Serbian list has withdrawn after the invitation for the North Mitrovica Constituent session, as the initial document did not contain the official “Republic of Kosovo”.
The new invitation for the North Mitrovica Assembly Constituent session now bears the official name “Republic of Kosovo”, and is also marked in Albanian, Dukagnaj reports.
Earlier, however, the newly elected chairman, Milan Radojevic, and his party, the Serbian List, announced they would not respect the country's constitutional order.
Under the law, any official document of the municipal institution should contain the footnote “Republic of Kosovo” and be in both official, Albanian and Serbian languages.
However, the first invitation sent by newly elected President Milan Radojevic has been addressed to advisers in the Serbian language alone and does not mention the official name of the state, thus violating the Law on Use of Languages and Constitutional Standards for State Documentation.
The Ministry of Management of Local Power, which has an overseer role over municipalities, had refused to hold the session on December 5th, arguing that the absence of the Kosovo Republic “ ” in the documentation makes the call of the session invalid.
