US Secretary of State congratulates Albania for Independence Day

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has congratulated Albanians on the 113th anniversary of Independence, praising the partnership between Albania and the United States of America.

Its leadership on the official website of the American State Department is said to be the foundation of our mutual defence, and we welcome Albania's increased investments in our collective security.

On the US State Department official page, Rubio says he appreciates close co-operation between Tirana and Washington.

On behalf of the United States, I want to congratulate Albania's people while celebrating Independence Day. The United States and Albania enjoy a strong partnership built on a common commitment to a more secure and prosperous future. Our alliance in NATO is the foundation of our bilateral defence, and we welcome Albania's increased investments in our collective security. In addition, our partnership with law enforcement in Albania makes our citizens more secure as we face threats posed by transnational criminal groups, drug trafficking cartels and those who co-operate with them. We also appreciate our close co-operation in addressing cyber threats and commend Albania for its important steps in cyber security”, said the congratulations.
