The Albanian national issue's event, Bardjel Mahmati, former political representative of the Kosovo Liberation Army, has criticised the Albanian political leaders of Tevoca who did not officially respect Albanians' pain and grief for the death of singer Shpat Kasami.
Comparing the posthumously treatment of Macedonian singer Todor Proeski, Mahmut said that the most popular Albanian singer of Albanians in northern Macedonia did nothing.
“TETOVA! YOU RPI T'I HUNDS THINGS POLITIC! On October 16, 2007, Macedonian singer Todor Proeski, known as Tose Proeski, died accidentally. In a sign of grief, then Macedonia's government (VMRO–PDSH) declared October 17th national mourning, while his hometown, Krusheva, proclaimed three days of mourning! On November 26th 2025, he died of cardiac arrest Shpat Kasap, the most popular Albanian singer of Albanian regions under Macedonia”, he wrote in a Facebook post.
Because Cave Kasap died in Italy and the transfer of the corpse took four days to bring him home, leaders of central and local power had four days to officially respect the pain and grief of Albanians. Shame, both central and local power, completely ignored our pain and grief! ”, he added.
Mahmut said that, “however, for family members it is a great relief to see hundreds of thousands of messages of comfort come from all four parts of the globe to share with us the great pain”.
“The Kasap sword was a YLL, whose light will continue to be seen over the next centuries”, he wrote./Periscopi/
